What If Your Health Is Just One Big Cash Flow?
Hear me out.
I’ve somehow found myself doing a lot of cash flows at the moment. And for many of you, I know that probably means nothing. The word cash flow alone might send you running. Fair enough.
But for a few of you - this might actually help something click.
Because maybe you’ve never really understood your health, your body, or how to actually make a change. And weirdly, cash flows might be the thing that helps explain it.
Let me explain.
I can’t say cash flows are my calling. I’m not even saying I’m good at them. I’m not. I’m learning. But maybe that’s the point. I’m a learner when it comes to cash flows, just like I’m a learner when it comes to understanding my body, my health, and what works for me.
The other day, I was trying to crack this one especially chaotic cash flow. I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong. Why the formulas weren’t working. Why the outcome didn’t make sense. then it hit me: one input, just one, was off. And because of that, the whole model was broken.
And suddenly, I realised - this is exactly what happens with our health.
Cash flows and health have this in common:
They’re complicated, They have a lot of moving parts and it can take time to get it right.
We can be doing all the things - sleeping, eating "well," meditating, walking - and still feel off. And it’s because somewhere, one little input isn’t right for us. And that one thing is messing up the whole system.
yes, there are some people who seem to just get it. It clicks. and that’s Great for them. But for most of us? It’s messy. There are so many inputs, so many variables, so many different messages flying at us that we don’t even know where to begin - let alone how to fix what isn’t working. We’re left with symptoms, confusion, frustration, and no idea why nothing’s adding up.
Which got me thinking: maybe our health is a lot like a cash flow. It’s not simple. There are too many inputs and outputs to count. It takes time to understand, and even longer to get right - if we ever really do.
So instead of rushing to “fix” everything, maybe we treat it like a spreadsheet. Break it down. Slow it down. Tab by tab. Input by input. Going through it slowly. Not assuming everything is broken. Just trying to understand what’s going in, and whether it actually lines up with what you want coming out. Not because we’re broken, but because we’re trying to understand ourselves properly for once.
In the holistic health we break down the key parts of holistic health so that you can start to actually see the inputs - and understand the outputs you’re getting. If what you’re putting in isn’t getting you where you want to go, maybe it’s time to change the equation. Not because you failed, but because it’s just not the right formula yet.
So no, I don’t think I’m secretly a cash flow girl. But I do think spreadsheets might’ve accidentally taught me how to take care of myself.
And wouldn’t it be nice if both just… worked?
