but when should I walk away?
It’s not just about leaving. it’s about laying down everything you've built, everything you’ve chased, everything you once believed in. It means parting ways with the version of life you thought you wanted, and the person you once were.
But walking away doesn’t always mean starting over. Sometimes, it means ending what no longer aligns with who you’ve become. Sometimes, it’s not about doors closing or grand exitsit’s choosing silence when every part of you wants to scream. It’s about raising your standards and holding them, even when it’s easier to let them slip.
For some, walking away is unbearably hard. For others, it’s too easy. And yet, there are moments when staying is the braver choice. Even when it hurts. Even when it’s the last thing you want to do. There’s a fine line between knowing when to leave and knowing when to stay. True strength lies in recognising that line.
Walking away can be an act of power. not surrender. It can be the choice you fear most, yet the one you know is right. But staying when it’s for your growth, your healing, your peace can be just as courageous. Not staying to endure, but staying to transform. To build resilience. To see it through.
There’s no definitive answerno universal rule for when to stay or walk away. But if you listen closely, your body will begin to tell you. In quiet signals. In soft knowing. And when you pause long enough to truly understand why you’re choosing what you’re choosing, even if certainty never fully comes, you’ll feel it:
You did the best you could with what you had.
And if, after all that, your heart tells you it’s time
Then walk away.
